Starlink is moving its business aviation customers to a new range of plans. The change affects price, data allowance, speed and, importantly, where an aircraft can use the service.

Three plans, three different use cases
Aviation Regional 25GB includes 25 GB for $4,000 per month, with additional data priced at $250 per GB and speeds advertised at up to 250 Mbps. Aviation Regional Unlimited costs $12,500 per month and offers speeds of up to 500 Mbps.
Aviation Global Unlimited costs $20,000 per month and provides worldwide coverage. Starlink states that speeds of up to 1 Gbps require its Aviation Performance Antenna. These are advertised maximums, not guaranteed performance on every route or in every operating condition.
Geography becomes part of the decision
The regional plans work within one continental region: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia or Australia. Starlink initially assigns that region using the customer's billing address.
An aircraft based and operated mainly in Europe may be well matched to a regional plan. One that regularly crosses between continents may require the global option, even if its monthly data use is modest.
The right connectivity plan now depends on where the aircraft flies, not simply how much data passengers use.
What owners and operators should review
Existing Business Jet customers are migrated automatically from their first billing cycle on or after 7 August 2026. Starlink says service will continue during the change, but the applicable plan, price and coverage will be updated.
Before accepting the assigned setup, operators should review typical routes, expected data use, passenger profile and any planned intercontinental missions. Hardware also matters: all Starlink aviation hardware can use the global plan, but the highest advertised speed requires the Performance antenna.
Connectivity is part of the wider aircraft experience and operating cost. The lowest monthly price is not necessarily the best value if regional limits or excess data charges do not match the real mission profile.
